Stay-Focused's Fifth Program

June / July 2005

Stay-Focused conducts fifth program!

From June 28th – July 3rd, Stay-Focused conducted its fifth program, bringing all six divers from 2004 together as a group for the first time. Our "Class of 2004" Reunion trip was a resounding success, with all divers performing brilliantly in the water. It was extremely gratifying to see how well their diving skills had progressed and how confident they were in the water.

The Stay-Focused Experience

The six, Stay-Focused alumni who participated in the program are: Chris Arcell (17), Chelsea Bilodeau (16), Jaclyn Lanzetti (16), Mariya Redden (15), Louis Riccardi (15), and Emily Seelenfreund (14).

Leading the Program

Joining the group were: Medical Advisor, Dr. JenFu Cheng, Swim Coach/Advisor, Trisha Yurochko, Program Manager/Dive Instructor, Richard Smart, Dive Instructor, Marty Banks, and Anthony Lanzetti (Jaclyn’s dad). We were also very lucky to have Judie Clee, a volunteer with the Reef Environmental Education Fund (REEF), talk to us about marine life and fish behavior.

Special thanks to Tony Chisholm, a talented diving instructor, for his assistance and ongoing involvement in our program. And, also to Dave and Sue Smart, for their support throughout the program.

DIVER

Consistent with all our trips, we discussed the acronym, DIVER, and assigned the following words to each letter:

D   Daring
I    Irreplaceable
V   Valuable
E   Euphoric
R   Results

All of our divers were daring, and it’s nice to know they consider their Stay-Focused experience both irreplaceable and valuable. Spending a week diving in Grand Cayman with good friends can certainly produce a “natural” high and be described as euphoric, right Chelsea? And, the results are in – this group of divers delivered outstanding results from the beginning. Congratulations – you’re all great!
