Stay-Focused Conducts 22nd Program! The first program of summer 2011 brought five divers together, including four divers from last summer, Joey Bedwell, Tyler Drake, Sydney Nicholas, and Zach Smith. Joining the group was first-time diver Aaron Pike, a good friend of Stay-Focused alum and summer intern, Ryan Chalmers. Stay-Focused alumna, Gail Gaeng, was also back in her role as mentor. Leading the Program Joining the group: Roger Muller, Founder/President of Stay-Focused; Gregg Chalmers, who, in addition to being Ryan's dad was our coach again on this trip; and, Dr. Mark Lombardo, our medical doctor, and his wife, Janet. Many thanks, as always, to our experienced diving instructors who volunteer their time to ensure all goes well during our dives and everyone is safe. Special thanks to Tony Chisholm, Chris Brandson, Nick Lawton, and "Freddy" Frederick. And, as always, we are very grateful for the support we received from Red Sail Sports and Sunset Divers! Congratulations! Congratulations to our four divers from last summer who successfully completed the requirements for their SCUBA diver certification. Last year's inclement weather hampered our efforts to get it done but this year the group prevailed! And congrats to Aaron Pike, the newcomer to the group, who took to diving with ease and achieved his certification as well.

Goals for 2011 and Beyond! Before leaving Cayman, we asked each participant to identify a goal for this year or 2012. We specified the goal needs to be realistic, achievable, and measurable. So, here they are, in no particular order: Aaron: London (Paralympic Games) in 2012. Gail: A 3.3 GPA at the University of Illinois and London in 2012. Zach: Read 10 books by the end of 2011. Sydney: Finish "My" book (as in the one she's writing ...). Move better in my chair ... Joey: Complete all college applications by November 2011. Tyler: Obtain Driver's License by August. Be a full-time University student with a 3.0 GPA by May/June 2012. Hey, good luck to all of you in achieving your goals!
